What to Expect at the Photoshoot:
Whether we are in the studio or outside on location I want you to feel at ease and have fun. I will guide you as needed for special shots but mostly I want to see the real you and so do your viewers. Like children I like the innocence the giggles. Let's create that aww or wow reaction together.
Booking a Photoshoot:
To book a photoshoot my contact page will help you get to me to bounce ideas around and create a starting point to make something amazing for you.
I collect a 50% non-refundable deposit with your executed contract at the time of booking your photoshoot. Two weeks prior to your shoot I will collect the final balance due.
What to Wear:
Simple not too far from the Real You is recommended unless you are doing a fun Glamor shot or something. Stay away from bold distracting patterns, they make the viewer look at them instead of the person. Avoid words on clothing. Blues and grays look really good against outdoor backgrounds, and if you are going to be sitting on the ground you might not want to wear your best white pants. Quarter length sleeves helps with heavier arms. I generally say dress in something that make you feel good, maybe a step up from what you would normally do. Be you!
Hair and Nails:
Just washed hair often times has fly away so maybe next day hair is best if that’s a problem for you. Make sure your hands and feet are presentable just in case they show in pictures. No chipped nail polish.
Make-up:
Matt is best, no shiny makeup. Shiny usually shows up as a white flash on camera. Blue eye shadow is not generally a good idea. Shine on your lips is very flattering on women. Men and children please use lip balm if your lips are dry and cracked.
How much time to allow:
Generally my photo shoots are around 1 to 2 hours, sometimes more with multiple clothes changes, newborns, etc.
Props and Pets:
Please feel free to bring props but beware if you don’t want a favorite chewed up stuffed animal in the photos you might want to leave it at home. Sometimes a small present to unwrap can bring a genuine smile to someone’s face. Unless it’s a pet photo-shoot or it has been arranged ahead of time please don’t bring them to the shoot.
Studio or On-Site:
Your choice, we can discuss either or even both if you like.
When do I get my Photos?:
I generally have your semi-finals ready for viewing in 2 to 4 weeks (weddings may take 6), from which you will make your final selections and I can usually give them to you within a few days of that.
If you are in a rush, let's discuss your situation and I will see what I can do to accomodate your timeline.
Other Questions?:
Contact me and I would love to discuss them.
